The process in detail
Minimum age and exam dates
You must be at least 14 ½ years old. You can take your theory exam 3 months before your 15th birthday.
Application
No application at the road traffic office is needed – an application at TÜV is enough. For this you only need 1 biometric passport photo.
Theory
You need 6 theory lessons. Which lessons exactly you attend doesn't matter at first – but topics like right of way are especially important. After your theory lessons, the theory exam awaits you.
Practice
The practical training prepares you for riding properly in road traffic: you can expect exercises in a car park and a ride through town.
